1. Be Respectful

Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and empathy.

• Be courteous in all your interactions
• Respect different backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and identities
• Disagree respectfully if you have differences
• Use inclusive language that keeps the space welcoming

2. Safety First

You're responsible for your safety and choices when meeting up or traveling with others.

• Meet in public places, especially when meeting someone for the first time
• Keep conversations in Along until you're comfortable
• Share your plans or travel itinerary with trusted friends or family
• Trust your instincts—if something feels off, don't proceed
• Never share sensitive personal information (financial details, home address, etc.) until you've thoroughly vetted someone
• Report any suspicious behavior, threats, or safety concerns immediately
• Don't arrange or facilitate illegal activities

3. Be Authentic

Honesty builds trust in our community.

• Use accurate information in your profile
• Use photos that clearly represent you
• Be honest about your plans, preferences, and expectations
• Don't impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Don't misrepresent your school affiliation or student status

4. Keep Content Appropriate

Help us maintain a respectful environment by keeping your contributions appropriate and relevant.

• Keep profile photos, trip photos, plan photos, and messages appropriate for all audiences
• Don't post explicit, graphic, or offensive content
• Don't share content that promotes violence, hate, or harm
• Don't spam, advertise, or promote commercial services
• Don't post misleading, false, or deceptive information

5. No Harassment or Discrimination

Harassment and discrimination aren't allowed.

• Don't harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten anyone
• Don't discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic
• Don't send unwanted or inappropriate messages
• Respect boundaries—if someone says no or asks you to stop, respect their wishes

6. Respect Privacy

Protect your privacy and respect the privacy of others.

• Don't share someone else's private information without their consent
• Don't share private messages or personal information outside Along without permission
• Respect the privacy settings and preferences of other users
• Don't use information from Along to contact users outside the platform without their permission

7. Use Along as Intended

Along is for connecting students with other students to do things together — from local activities to longer trips.

• Use the platform for its intended purpose—connecting students for plans and travel
• Don't use Along for romantic or sexual solicitation, commercial purposes, or other unrelated activities
• Don't scrape, copy, or misuse data from the platform
• Don't attempt to circumvent security features or access controls
• Don't use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the platform

8. Follow Plan and Trip Etiquette

Be a considerate companion, whether it's a quick campus meetup or a longer trip.

• Communicate clearly about expectations, timing, and budgets
• Be reliable—show up on time and honor commitments
• Be flexible and understanding when plans change
• For trips, discuss and agree on shared expenses beforehand
• Respect others' styles, preferences, and boundaries
• If you need to cancel, give as much notice as possible
• Leave honest and fair ratings and feedback after plans and trips

9. No Illegal Activities

Don't use Along for illegal purposes.

• Don't use Along to facilitate illegal activities
• Don't share, promote, or solicit illegal substances or activities
• Comply with all applicable laws in your location and travel destinations
• Don't violate intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, etc.)

10. Reporting Violations

Help us keep Along safe by reporting violations.

• If you see behavior that violates these guidelines, report it and stop engaging
• Use block or mute features when available
• Use the in-app reporting features or contact us at [email protected]
• Provide as much detail as possible to help us investigate
• Don't make false or malicious reports
• Reported content may be reviewed to enforce these guidelines and maintain community safety

Consequences for Violations

We take violations of these Community Guidelines seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may:

• Send you a warning
• Remove content that violates these guidelines
• Limit visibility of content
• Restrict your access to certain features
• Suspend your account temporarily
• Permanently ban your account
• Report serious violations to law enforcement

Some violations may lead to immediate suspension or removal. We reserve the right to take action at our discretion based on the context and severity of the violation.
